Summary:

Wilson Allen seeks a Remote Lead Azure Engineer for the Data Sciences division. The position is responsible for taking ownership of the design and development of Wilson Allen’s Azure based data analytics platform. This platform serves to store and integrate data from a number of industry standard data sources and transform them through to a feature store state that enables our both our own and the client’s data science teams to create machine learning efforts more efficiently. It will also serve as a modern approach to more traditional analytics for our customers.

The individual will need to demonstrate experience in building scalable, production state cloud solutions from the ground up and have a deep knowledge of Azure components & services to help drive the design of our desired future state.

This is a full-time benefitted remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play a key role in the design and development of an Azure based data platform that enables our customers to connect data from both structured and unstructured industry standard data sources
  • Establish an Azure DevOps process for the product
  • Establish and manage a robust Test & QA process for development efforts
  • Take the lead in the selection and development of Azure technical assets to meet the needs of the product stakeholders
  • Ensure that the future state is deployable at scale
  • Ensure that design decisions are cost effective for our clients to aid adoption
  • Be aligned with both our Data Science and Power BI developers to ensure that the platform delivers value and assists in their respective efforts
  • Be comfortable in presenting development updates to the wider business
  • Assist in pre-sales/solution discovery efforts with existing and potential clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 6 years of comparable data engineering, Azure storage technologies (Azure Data Lake, Lake Analytics, etc) and data ingestion strategies preferably in a legal or software services environment.
  • Comfortable with MS SQL Data Technologies
  • Knowledge of Azure ML and Power BI is preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of relational databases
  • Microsoft Certifications (any) but preferably Azure and/or Power Platform
  • Previous experience in leading/building a development team is a plus.
